Upper-level trough will keep showers activity high
There will be an overnight lull in the rain activity in the Tampa Bay area overnight, but showers and storms will pick back up by the early morning hours, WFLA meteorologist Julie Phillips said. Temperatures overnight will fall to the upper 70s. There's a good chance of showers and storms in the forecast all day Saturday because of a deep upper level trough that has moved across the Southeast, Phillips said. The same conditions make showers likely through the first part of the new week.
