Downtown St. Pete’s 24-hour diner 2nd & Second is open

Downtown St. Petersburg’s only 24/7 restaurant has opened and doesn’t plan to close, ever.

The 2nd & Second diner at the corner of Second Street and Second Avenue N will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week offering a spot for downtown’s night owls and early risers.

"Looking for Our Hours? Sorry, but you won’t find those, we’re open 24/7! (not sorry)," reads the announcement on 2ndandsecond.com. "... All Day, Non-Stop, Never-Ending, Always Open."

The restaurant will be open with limited seating for the first few weeks to ensure quicker service as the staff gets up to speed, management said.

The extensively renovated space, most recently a RE/MAX real estate office, features an outdoor patio, booths and lots of bar stool seating, and specializes in breakfast and traditional American classics "along with some fresh takes," the owners said.

Specialties listed on the menu include a breakfast burger served on slices of french toast, fried chicken and biscuits and a country fried cheesesteak sandwich. They also serve cocktails, beer and wine.

The restaurant is a collaboration between Kahwa Coffee owner Raphael Perrier, chef Jeremy Duclut of Cassis American Brasserie and Tryst owner Renaud Cowez, Perrier told the Tampa Bay Times in February.

Another 24-hour diner, Diner24 DTSP, opened at 350 First Ave. N. in April, but closed two months later.
