Today Scandinavian Club: The group will host its monthly get-together at 2:30 p.m. in the Sandpiper Room at the Atrium. After a short business meeting, there will be performances of a male choir in the tiny fishing village of Berlevag at the northernmost tip of Norway. From singing in raging snowstorms to their backstage maneuverings on their Russian tour, the fishermen find purpose and comradeship as members of the choir. This program replaces the high school choral program previously announced. Coffee and cookies will be served. Members pay $3; nonmembers pay $4. There are 42 diversified classes, many new this year, and five one-day outings. The classes are 90 minutes in length. Tuition is $25 for six classes. Otherwise, they may be taken individually on a walk-in basis for $5 per week; no registration is required for this option. Late registration is Thursday through the first week of classes in the college office, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to noon. The office is closed on Friday. Catalogs listing the classes, schedules and instructors are available at the college, 1501 La Jolla Ave., Sun City Center, and throughout the community. Friday Gourmet hot dog dinner: St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 1015 Del Webb Blvd. E., Sun City Center, will host a gourmet hot dog dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to support its 2013 Dominican Mission Project working group. Jazz concert: The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. W., will welcome back the Phil Provenzo & the Jazz Xperience as part of its Thank God Its Variety Concert series at 6:30 p.m. Phil's ensemble is a mainstream, straight-ahead jazz combo originally formed to perpetuate the West Coast jazz sounds of musicians like Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker. Since its inception 20 years ago, the group has grown to include other mainstream jazz styles, including its own unique sound. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early for a good seat. Saturday Audubon meeting: The Eagle Audubon Society of Kings Point will begin its 30th Annual Outdoor Adventure Film Series for 2013 with the film "America's Amazing Places" at 7:30 p.m. in the Borini Theater at the King's Point Clubhouse. Narrated by producer Bob DeLoss, the film features the locations of America's little-known travel destinations. The public is welcome. Tickets are $7.50 and available at the Kings Point Box Office or just before the performance. Sunday Guest speaker: The public is invited to hear the Rev. Edward Matuvhunye of Zimbabwe speak at the 10 a.m. worship service at United Community Church, 1501 La Jolla Ave., Sun City Center. Tuesday Polish Heritage Club: The monthly meeting of the Polish Heritage Club will be at 7 p.m. in the Florida Room at the Atrium. Tickets will be on sale for the Punski Ball to be held Feb. 9. Photo display: Patt Sulzberger will be the featured photographer for the SCC Photo Club's monthly display Feb. 14 through March 13 at the Greater Sun City Center Chamber of Commerce. Her exhibit, Moments in Time, will feature many of her award-winning photos. Between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, she will be on hand to meet the public. Wine and cheese will be served.
