Successful bridge event held
The Kings Point Duplicate Bridge Association’s first individual game was called a rousing success by organizers. Players earned individual scores and had a chance to play with many new partners.
Sun City Center area duplicate bridge players are invited to attend, meet new people and have fun playing and competing. Sign up at the Kings Point North Clubhouse cardroom or just walk in. In order to facilitate the set-up of play, the beginning time has changed to 8:45 a.m. Early arrival will be appreciated.
Individual games will be held Monday mornings on July 28 and Aug. 4, 18 and 25. Set your alarm, be an early riser and join the fun.
State chapter chairman to speak
Jim Mahoney, chairman of the Florida Chapter of the Photographic Society of America, will be the featured speaker at the Sun City Center Photo Club’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. The meeting will take place in the Caper Room at the Atrium Building. Mahoney has been an active member of the society since 1984 and has been an active exhibitor in international exhibitions and camera club competitions since then. His favorite subjects are landscapes and model photography, and he takes great pleasure in visiting the country’s national and state parks and monuments, searching for magical light and the perfect moment to record the scene. His photographs have been published in “Tampa Bay Magazine” and other publications. Mahoney is chairman of the Central Florida Chapter of the PSA.
Mahoney will share the benefits of the SCC Photo Club’s membership in the Photographic Society of America and his experiences in photography. The public is welcome.
