SUN CITY CENTER – The Sun City Center Area Chamber’s biggest event of the year is tomorrow and folks representing almost 100 businesses in town will be there.
Several thousand area residents are expected to check out the annual Fall Business Expo to learn about the products and services that are available to them right here in their own community – and some from as far away as Lakeland.
Twenty nonprofit groups, including the Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort no-kill shelter, My Warrior’s Place and Critter Mama Rescue, will be on hand. Local and elected officials also are expected to appear.
Estimated to be about 30 years old, the free event is primarily for Sun City Center residents, but it’s also open to residents of surrounding communities, said Dana Dittmar, the chamber’s executive director.
“Many businesses here serve folks outside of Sun City Center,” she said. “Their reach covers all of the south county area.”
Vendors will represent the following industries: home improvement, health care, senior services, tourism and entertainment, legal and financial services and more. Many local physicians and their staffs will be provide information on their practices and be available to answer questions. Kiwanis and several churches will be selling food.
And if that’s not enough, several health providers will conduct free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar and bone density. There also will be lots of door prizes and vendor drawings.
“We do this to showcase our local businesses and to introduce our residents to the people who can make their lives truly golden,” Dittmar said. “Everyone who participates wins.”
