SUN CITY CENTER – An estimated 6,000 to 7,000 visitors recently turned out for the annual SCC Community Association’s Fun Fest at its Central Campus and Atrium complex. The crowd of mostly seniors noshed on burgers, Polish sausage, strawberry shortcake and the like after checking out the offerings of about 100 participating clubs and organizations.
Many purchased items made by club members, learned about local businesses or had several health screenings made available by around 30 area healthcare groups, including St. Joseph’s South and South Bay hospitals. There was all-day, live entertainment. Even Elvis was spotted singing in the main tent.
There was something for just about every taste at the event. Whether folks were into clogging, line dancing or jazz; choral music, tai chi or photography; woodcarving, pottery-making or stained glass jewelry, there were demonstrations, performances and exhibits to fill their appetites.
The end result – it was a fun-filled day for all.
