Woods paces Miami
BOSTON - Michelle Woods scored a career-high 20 points and No. 23 Miami picked up a 69-63 victory against Richmond on Monday night in a nonconference game. Woods was six of 12 from the field and three of four on 3-pointers. Keyona Hayes added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Hurricanes (2-0), while Shawnice Wilson and Morgan Stroman also pulled down 11 boards each for Miami. Miami shot just 23 of 60 from the field, but made 19 of 21 free-throw attempts. Richmond (1-1) was paced by Rachael Bilney, who scored 15 points.NO. 14 W. The Mountaineers led by seven with 3:51 to go, but Chantell Alford, who scored a career-high 30 points with nine rebounds for the Terriers, tied it at 57 with 29 seconds remaining. Dunning hit one of two free throws with 4 seconds left, then knocked down a pair of foul shots 2 seconds later. Alford missed from half court with 2 seconds left.
