St. Pete Plans Welcome Home Party For The Rays
The city of St. Petersburg will hold a celebration in honor of the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays' return home from the World Series. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at North Straub Park, between Fifth Avenue and Second Avenue North along Bayshore Drive, according to the city. Manager Joe Maddon will appear along with other Rays' players, whose names have not been announced. The official program, hosted by Dick Crippen, will begin at 4:30 p.m. Local officials will also be on hand to welcome back home the team, who lost the Series to the Philadelphia Phillies.
