Rays Triple Play: Notes from camp

Veterans Days

Strength and conditioning coach Kevin Barr is keeping alive a tradition started by former Ray Johnny Damon, who invited members of the Wounded Warriors program to work out with the Rays.

Ten members of Wounded Warriors worked out with the Rays before Thursday night’s game with the Twins, and they will work out before today’s game against the Blue Jays.

“I know they are going to say how great it is to be here, but believe me, it’s great for us,” Rays manager Joe Maddon said.

Meet the Zobrists

Ben and Julianna Zobrist will sign copies of their book, “Double Play,” from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The book, which details their love story as well as some of the darker moments in their lives, goes on sale today at the Charlotte Sports Park team store for $24.99. It will be released to the public April 1.

Archer gives back

Chris Archer partnered with the national non-profit Good Sports and will present the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County with more than $15,000 in new recreation equipment to support a community where nearly three-quarters of the children receive free or reduced lunch at school.

Archer will make the donation Tuesday.
