Rays' pitchers, catchers report for camp today
PORT CHARLOTTE - The Tampa Bay Rays begin spring training today, when their 37 pitchers and catchers report to the Charlotte Sports Park. The first workout is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday. All subsequent workouts will start at 9:30 a.m. The first full-squad session is Sunday, when the camp expands to 58 players, including 18 non-roster invitees.Admission and parking for spring workouts are free. Charlotte Sports Park is at 2300 El Jobean Road. On Interstate 75, exit at Toledo Blade Road (Exit 179) and turn right (west). Go about 6½ miles to El Jobean Road (State Road 776) and turn right. Go about two miles to the stadium. The Rays play their first spring training game March 3 against the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers, then host the Twins in Port Charlotte on March 4.
