The Rays will host the Yankees and Red Sox for a combined five weekend series, and play teams from the National League Central as part of its 2014 schedule released today.
The Rays open at home on March 31 with a four-game series against the Blue Jays, and close out the season on the road at Boston (Sept. 23-25) and Cleveland (Sept. 26-28).
In between, the Red Sox will play three weekend series at Tropicana Field — May 23-25, July 25-27 and Aug. 29-Sept. 1 — and the Yankees will be in town for weekend series on April 18-20 and Aug. 15-17.
The Rays will play 20 interleague games, including home series against the Cardinals (June 10-11), Pirates (June 23-25) and Milwaukee (July 28-30). It will be Pittsburgh’s first appearance at the Trop since 2003, and the Brewers’ first visit since 2005. The Cardinals have played at the Trop in 2005 and 2011.
The Rays travel to Cincinnati to play the Reds on April 11-13, and Chicago to play the Cubs on Aug. 8-10. Their only previous trip to Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati was in 2005, and their only previous visit to Wrigley Field was in 2003.
Their other interleague games are at Miami on June 2-3, and home against the Marlins on June 4-5.
The schedule is subject to change, and game times will be announced at a later date.
