ARLINGTON, Texas – The Rays begin the final leg of their 10-game, three-city trip tonight against the Rangers in what is now called Globe Life Park.
Drew Smyly makes his second start as a Ray. He’ll be opposed by Colby Lewis, who blanked the White Sox his last time out.
The Rays have not allowed more than three runs during the first six games of this trip, one shy of tying a team record. Yet, they are just 3-3.
The Rays 44 strikeouts during the three games at Wrigley Field over the weekend tied a modern day record for strikeouts in a three-game series since 1900. Detroit (2013 at Minnesota), Milwaukee (July 2012 vs. Pittsburgh) and Toronto (August 1991 vs. Detroit) are the other teams to turn the trick.
Here are the lineups:
Smyly LHP (6-10, 3.98)
Lewis (8-8, 5.50)
