P Eric Hinostroza, Brandon, Sr.: Led 7A-District 8 champions with an 8-1 record and 1.14 ERA with 66 strikeouts and had a no-hitter against Armwood. Batted .377 with 10 runs, 17 RBIs and six doubles. P Brett Morales, King, Sr.: Florida commit went 11-2 with a 0.58 ERA and 127 strikeouts, including 17 in region final, helping King to 6A state semifinals. P Jose Pupo, Leto, Sr.: Helped Leto to region playoffs with a 7-3 record and 1.47 ERA with 97 strikeouts, and led Falcons' offense. C Adrian Chacon, Jesuit, Sr.: North Carolina signee showed his versatility behind the plate, and when needed at third base, for 5A state semifinalists. Batted .423 with 29 runs and 23 RBIs. INF Pete Alonso, Plant, Sr.: Third baseman and Florida signee hit .387 with 24 runs, 22 RBIs, nine doubles and seven homers. Won Wade Boggs Award. INF Kevin Merrell, Steinbrenner, Jr.: Set school record in hits with 41 while batting .458 with 28 runs and 15 stolen bases. INF Vincent Miniet, Jesuit, Sr.: South Florida commit led Tigers in runs (33), while hitting .347 with 25 RBIs, nine doubles and three home runs. INF Daniel Portales, Jesuit, Sr.: On top of solid glove at first base, USF commit had 33 RBIs, scored 20 runs, hit four triples and batted .444. INF Tanner Williams, King, Sr.: Skilled second baseman led Lions with a .414 average, driving in 18 runs, scoring 29 and swiping 17 bases for the 6A state semifinalists. OF Levi Gilcrease, Cambridge Christian, Jr.: Center fielder led team to 2A state semifinals, hitting .493 with 34 runs, 14 RBIs, nine doubles, seven home runs and 19 steals. OF Alex Hanson, Steinbrenner, Jr.: Helping the Warriors to a first district title, Hanson hit .464 with 27 runs, 33 RBIs, nine doubles and four home runs. OF Leland Saile, Jesuit, Sr.: Appointed to Naval Academy, Saile hit .440 with 24 runs, 22 RBIs and nine doubles. OF Kyle Tucker, Plant, So.: Batted .556, scored 29 runs, drove in 26, and had seven doubles and nine home runs. UT Cole Gordon, Steinbrenner, Jr.: The 6-foot-5 left-handed hitter batted .433 with 30 runs, 33 RBIs and seven home runs. UT Spencer Trayner, Jesuit, Sr.: University of North Carolina commit batted .463 with 30 runs, 24 RBIs, eight doubles and 10 steals. On mound, he was 7-1 with a 1.25 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 56 innings.
