Juwan Durham, Tampa Prep
WHY WE CHOSE HIM: Durham, a 6-foot-9 center, finished with a third consecutive triple-double in a win against Brooks-DeBartolo on Jan. 14, totaling 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 blocks.
COLLEGE PLANS: Only a sophomore, Durham is rated one of the top recruits for the Class of 2016 and has verbal scholarship offers from Division I programs, including defending national champion Louisville, Florida, Florida State, South Florida, Indiana, Miami, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Caroline King, Robinson
WHY WE CHOSE HER: King, a senior defender, scored two goals in Robinson’s 6-0 win against Bradenton Southeast on Saturday to claim the Class 3A-District 9 girls soccer championship. It was the program’s third consecutive district title. A midfielder most of her high school career, King moved to defender this year to help the team.
COLLEGE PLANS: King is undecided, but she hopes to attend the University of Virginia and plans to study pre-med.
