MELBOURNE — Bri Folds’ header with 2 minutes left in the second overtime gave Lakeland Christian a 2-1 victory over Shorecrest in the Class 1A girls soccer state semifinals on Wednesday at Eastern Florida State College.
Lakeland Christian will meet St. Johns Country Day, a 7-0 winner against Palmer Trinity, in the Class 1A title game today at 3 p.m.
Folds scored her first goal just 3 minutes into the game to give Lakeland Christian a 1-0 advantage. Eight minutes later, Sophie Wiltshire scored for Shorecrest to even it.
Lakeland Christian goalie Lydia Cagle had five saves; Shorecrest’s Natalie Zolper had nine.
Palm Harbor University will play Vero Beach on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Class 5A semifinals.
