MELBOURNE — Berkeley Prep’s soccer season lives for at least another day, in part because of weather.

After playing more than 20 minutes Wednesday, the Buccaneers’ Class 2A boys soccer state semifinal against Orlando Bishop Moore at Eastern Florida State College was postponed until 5:30 p.m. today because of inclement weather.

Berkeley and Bishop kicked off at 5:30 Wednesday, but after the first water break, the game was suspended because of lightning with 18:16 left in the first half.

The game was scoreless.

The postponement does not affect Sunlake’s 3A state semifinal at 12:30 p.m. today against Merritt Island.

However, if Berkeley Prep advances to the 2A state championship against Miami Gulliver Prep, it will be played at noon on Saturday.
