Prep Athletes of the Week: Dec. 2-7

Each week, the Tribune prep sports staff selects a Male and Female Athlete of the Week. The selections are based on athletic performance.

Dylan Lucas, Brandon

WHY WE CHOSE HIM: The junior defeated Ryan Millhof of Georgia's Collins Hill, the No. 1 high school wrestler at 126 pounds, in the final match at the annual Jim Graves Invitational at Brandon over the weekend. Lucas won 3-1 in overtime to help Brandon win its 11th Graves title since the invite started in 2003. Millhof defeated Lucas earlier this year at a national tournament.

COLLEGE PLANS: Lucas, a three-time state champion, hopes to wrestle at either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State.

Ericka Lott, Plant City

WHY WE CHOSE HER: The senior forward had not one, but two hat tricks last week, scoring three goals in a district win against Tampa Bay Tech and three more goals against King in another district match a day later. Lott also had an assist in each game, giving her 14 points for the week.

COLLEGE PLANS: Lott has been accepted into the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she plans to major in advertising.
