Pasco Tribune’s All-County Girls Tennis Team

First Team

Kavya Avancha, Land O’ Lakes, Junior: The Land O’ Lakes junior won a Class 3A-District 9 title and nabbed a berth in the state tournament.

Mady Johnson, Pasco, Senior: She has been one of the Pirates’ top players the past couple of seasons, and led her team to a berth in the Class 2A state tourney. She compiled a 17-5 record.

Cheyenne Lilienthal, Academy at the Lakes, Freshman: Lilienthal surprised Tampa Prep’s Paige Leavy in three sets to win the Class 1A-District 7 title and advance to the state tournament as a ninth grader.

Brianna Miah, Wiregrass Ranch, Senior: She ended her prep career by reaching the Class 3A state tournament with teammate Tiffany Garner.

Sierra Yanez, Anclote, Senior: She was able to clinch a state tournament berth in Class 2A before losing in the round of 16.

About The Team

The Pasco Tribune’s all-county girls tennis team was selected by correspondent Andy Villamarzo based on regular and postseason results. The all-conference team selected by the county’s head coaches was strongly considered. The Athlete and Coach of the Year will be announced at a later date.
