NEED TO KNOW: The Mustangs, who made the state semifinals last season, are well ahead of the pack, going undefeated and outscoring opponents 110-5 behind stellar play of freshman Sabrina Wagner and her team-high 31 goals and senior Amanda Hayes’ 13 goals. Mitchell will be without Taylor Meek (18 goals) due to injury, but has a great defense led by UConn-commit Danielle Gottwik (9 goals) and keeper Erica Disbrow (13 shutouts). … Wiregrass Ranch, as the fifth seed, outscored opponents 74-18, but struggled in the district despite 18 goals from freshman Sareya Maxson.
3A-7 at Brooksville Nature Coast

NEED TO KNOW: Hudson took this district by storm, thanks to a young team playing above its age and West Florida commit Dominique Cirnigliaro’s county-high 50 goals. Hudson did lose to Spring Hill Springstead and Brooksville Nature Coast, plus tied rival Fivay early in the season, but also posted 15 shutouts. ... Fivay allowed noly 20 goals this season and grabbed the No. 3 seed, thanks to Morgan Vidrine (17 goals), Leah Neck (16 goals) and Alex Mumma (13 goals).
3A-8 at Zephyrhills
SCHEDULE: Monday: Anclote (9) vs. Ridgewood (8), 6 p.m.; Zephyrhills (7) vs. Sunlake (2), 8 p.m. Tuesday: Ridgewood-Anclote winner vs. Land O’ Lakes (1), 4 p.m.; Wesley Chapel (6) vs. Pasco (3), 6 p.m.; River Ridge (5) vs. Gulf (4), 8 p.m. Wednesday: Semifinals, 6 and 8 p.m. Friday: Semifinal winners, 7 p.m.
NEED TO KNOW: Land O’ Lakes is the top seed, going undefeated in the district, thanks to Victoria Cannata’s 21 goals. The Gators allowed only 13 goals throughout the season, with nine of those coming against district opponents. Sunlake, the No. 2 seed, poses to be the biggest threat, even though Land O’ Lakes beat Sunlake 2-1 and 1-0, respectively, in the regular season. Pasco is having a great season behind Alexis Porter’s 26 goals, but were outscored a combined 20-2 against the Gators and Seahawks. Gulf is the No. 4 seed behind Brianna Rossi’s 18 goals. River Ridge is led by Darien Davis’ 23 goals. Wesley Chapel struggled to grab four wins this season, while Anclote, Ridgewood and Zephyrhills combined for only three victories.
1A-5 at Carrollwood Day
SCHEDULE: Tuesday: Seffner Christian (3) vs. Cambridge Christian (2), 1:30 p.m.; Bishop McLaughlin (4) vs. Carrollwood Day (1), 3:30 p.m. Friday: Semifinal winners, 3:30 p.m.
NEED TO KNOW: Bishop McLaughlin struggled to find wins this season (3-10) and is led by leading-scorer and Florida Southern-commit Rickelle Vetzel (6 goals). Carrollwood Day is the top seed, led by Alexis Schweitzer’s nine goals.
