Kaminski lifts Palm Harbor past Clearwater

CLEARWATER — Palm Harbor’s high-powered offense continues to show signs of maturing. Once again it was Tyler Kaminski leading the way — this time with his arm and legs.

Kaminski completed 16 of 24 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns, while running for a pair of scores in a 38-7 victory Thursday — the Hurricanes’ second consecutive impressive showing following a season-opening loss.

“Tyler’s our point guard, so we expect him to lead the way,” PHU coach Matt LePain said. “We had to simplify things (offensively) and it was nice to get a chance to work on them.”

Kaminski had a hand in all 38 Hurricanes’ points, scoring on runs of 4 and 11 yards, kicking a 36-yard field goal and five extra points and adding touchdown passes of 20, 41 and 6 yards to Dominic Bonelli.

Logan Lopez provided the only bright spot for Clearwater (0-3). The junior finished with 90 yards on 12 carries, including a 27-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter.
