HUDSON — Fivay dug an early hole, but used its balanced offensive attack to battle back and defeat the visiting Lecanto Panthers.
Down 14-3 after one quarter, Fivay struck back with the passing of Eric Vitale.
Vitale threw touchdown passes to Davion Sutton (25 yards) and Trenton Soto (20 yards) to give the Falcons a 15-14 halftime lead.
Vitale continued with his hot hand in the third quarter, finding Sutton for another touchdown, this time from 55 yards out, giving Fivay a 22-14 lead.
Lecanto would answer with a Dmitry Gordon 1-yard run to make it 22-20, but Fivay would pull away in the final period.
Davion Sutton, who finished with more than 200 total yards, scored twice to provide the final margin.
Fivay coach Chris Taylor was proud of his team’s effort after the sluggish start.
“It took a quarter for us to wake up and match their intensity,” Taylor said. “Once we did that, we were able to click on all cylinders.”
