NEED TO KNOW: Many of the nation’s top senior football players, including players from Tampa Bay, will play in the national All-American game. Jefferson quarterback Deiondre Porter, a South Florida commitment who led the area in passing with 3,199 yards and 33 touchdowns along with 1,499 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, will play for the South team. Joining Porter from the Tampa area on the South team will be WR Justin Motlow and LB Tre Watson (committed to Illinois), who both helped Tampa Catholic reach the Class 3A state semifinals, three-star Chamberlain LB Anthony Davis, and Northeast High RB Keith Harrington, who has committed to Washington State. The visiting North squad features four-star WR Michiah Quick from California, Wisconsin-committed WR Chris Jones (DeMatha Catholic, Hyattsville, Md.) and California DT Tashon Smallwood, who is headed to Arizona State. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Larry Ryans (South) and Vernon Turner (North) will be the coaches for the game.
