VALRICO - King junior quarterback Reese Sturgis ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns as King (3-4) rolled over Bloomingdale at Charley Harris Stadium.
Bloomingdale turnovers set up King's first two scores late in the first quarter. Sturgis, who took over last week for the injured Greg Windham, ran 5 yards to give King the lead with 1:03 left after the Bulls fumbled a punt snap. Chris Murray (92 yards rushing, 20 receiving) followed with the first of his two touchdowns on a 25-yard gallop, one play after Bloomingdale fumbled the kickoff.
Derrick Johnson had another big day for Bloomingdale (0-8), running for 159 yards on 21 carries. The first of his two touchdowns, a 2-yard run, cut the lead to 14-7 with 8:53 left in the first half.
King, which broke a three-game losing streak, rebounded with touchdown drives of 75, 32 and 53 yards. Sturgis ran 2 yards for his second touchdown, then the first of Antoine Lundy's two interceptions set up a Sturgis 14-yard TD run. Tavis Campbell capped the first-half scoring on a 1-yard run with 31.2 seconds left for a 35-7 lead. King finished with 336 yards rushing.
