TAMPA — Berkeley Prep’s Justin Houston said Friday he has stepped down as the head baseball coach after eight seasons. Houston will be taking an administrative role in Berkeley Prep’s guidance office next year.
Berkeley Prep went 17-13 this past season and advanced to the Class 4A region finals.
“The kids obviously have been great,’’ Houston said. “I think it is great players that make great coaches, not the other way around. I’ve been blessed with a ton of talent with a ton of great people.”
During his tenure, Houston posted a 114-90 record and led Berkeley Prep to the state playoffs four times, reaching the region final three times.
