Tampa Bay Lightning plan Fan Fest for Sunday
TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning plan to host their annual Fan Fest - featuring the season's first practice and an autograph availability - this Sunday at the Forum. The event comes a few months late due to the NHL lockout and depends on player ratification of a new labor deal. Lightning players will sign autographs from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a commentary session with team management, coaches and broadcasters. The first practice of the team's 20th anniversary season is scheduled from 12:30 to 2 p.m. There will be a kids' zone with ThunderBug, and fans can get their first look at the Forum's new center-hung video board, the largest in any North America arena. In addition to meeting the team and watching the first practice of the season, those in attendance will have the first opportunity to purchase single-game tickets. They can also receive 50 percent off select merchandise and have access to food and drink specials. Season ticket members who wear their jerseys will receive a number of benefits, including free parking and exclusive autograph opportunities on the club level. Doors open at 9 a.m. Fans should park in the Forum's East or West lots and enter through the arena's main entrance. A collective bargaining agreement was tentatively agreed upon by owners and the players union Sunday after the 113-day lockout wiped out much of the season. Owners ratified the 10-year agreement Wednesday. Tampa Bay is expected to open an abbreviated 48-game schedule at home Jan. 19 against the Washington Capitals, although season specifics won't be announced until the labor deal is officially approved.
