Lightning re-sign D Mark Barberio
TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenseman Mark Barberio to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday. Barberio, 23, played 73 games last season with Tampa Bay's affiliate in the American Hockey League, the Syracuse Crunch, registering eight goals and 42 points with 44 penalty minutes. He also played in 18 games during the Calder Cup players, tallying three goals and 15 points. Tampa Bay drafted Barberio in the sixth round, 152nd overall, in 2008.
