Lightning agree to terms with 2011 draft pick Nesterov
TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning agreed to terms with defenseman Nikita Nesterov on a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Tuesday. Nesterov, 20, was selected by Tampa Bay in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2011 NHL entry draft. He participated in the team’s 2012 development camp, teaming with Vladislav Namestnikov, Slater Koekkoek and Cedric Paquette to win the annual 3-on-3 tournament. A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Nesterov (6-foot, 183 pounds) played in 35 games with Chelyabinsk Traktor of the KHL this season, recording 14 penalty minutes while averaging 12:21 in average ice time. He also appeared in 19 playoff games, recording four assists.
