The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced their 2015 preseason schedule, including home-and-home series against the Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars.
The Lightning also will play the Pittsburgh Penguins in the inaugural “Kraft Hockeyville USA” game in Johnston, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 29. That game will be televised by the NBC Sports Network.
The Lightning open the preseason on Sept. 22 with a home game against Nashville, and will have two other games at Amalie Arena — Sept 25 against the Panthers and Oct. 1 against the Stars.
For the Kraft Foods promotion, towns across the country submited stories showing their hockey spirit and passion. Kraft said more than 20.4 million votes were cast.
Cambria County War Memorial Arena — the inspiration for the 1977 movie “Slap Shot” — will receive $150,000 in arena upgrades for the game.
The Lightning went 5-1-0 last preseason.
