Favre says ankle injury not 'debilitating'
Brett Favre says the problem with his left ankle isn't a debilitating injury and he doesn't believe "major surgery" is required to play again next season. The 40-year-old Vikings quarterback posted a statement on his website Friday after earlier disclosing the need for surgery to ESPN. He says the ankle is bothering him and he's had surgery on it twice before. But he also says he doesn't want anyone to assume "that the possibility of surgery was the sole factor" in determining whether he comes back next season.
