UT to host NCAA Division II South Regional

TAMPA - The University of Tampa will host the double-elimination NCAA Division II South Region baseball tournament, starting Thursday.
The top-seeded Spartans (39-10), who won their second straight Sunshine State Conference championship, open at 11 a.m. against No. 6-seeded Stillman.
It’s the 14th straight NCAA tournament appearance for Tampa.
Tickets will be $10 at the gate; $5 for students and seniors.

Game 2 - No. 2 Delta State vs. No. 5 Valdosta State, 3 p.m.

UT softball falls at D-II regional
The University of Tampa softball team ended its season Sunday after a second loss in two days to host Valdosta State at the NCAA Division II South Regional.
Valdosta State, the defending national champion, won 12-6, at Valdosta, Ga.
Meagan Burke had three hits for UT (33-10), while Kayleen Boatwright and Brie Walton had two apiece. One of Boatwright’s two hits was a two-run homer.
