Women's basketball: USF Bulls falter late to Louisville
TAMPA - Shoni Schimmel scored a career-high 38 points and No.12 Louisville rallied from a nine-point second-half deficit to beat the University of South Florida 78-75 in a Big East game Wednesday. The junior guard hit a two-point jumper and three 3-pointers as the Cardinals (18-4, 6-2) tied the game after trailing 60-51. The Bulls (14-6, 3-4) twice got to within a point in the final 21 seconds, but could not take the lead. Andrell and Andrea Smith led South Florida with 18 and 17 points, respectively.FLORIDA TECH 58, TAMPA 54: The University of Tampa (12-5, 3-5) fell short against visiting Florida Tech (14-4, 6-2) in a Sunshine State Conference game. Catherine Matthews led the Spartans with 15 points.
