North Texas hires USF's Canales as offensive coordinator
DENTON, Texas - North Texas has hired former South Florida coach Mike Canales as its offensive coordinator. Canales was the offensive coordinator at USF the past three seasons, and at Arizona three years before that. He also coached receivers for the NFL's New York Jets and was quarterbacks coach at North Carolina State when Philip Rivers was there. Canales replaces Todd Ford, who is leaving to become the head coach of a new high school in Round Rock, Texas.
