Florida Gators notes: MRI likely for Yeguete
GAINESVILLE - Nothing has been determined yet, but Florida coach
Billy Donovan said at his season wrapup Wednesday that Will Yeguete, who will be a senior next season, could be looking at a second knee surgery after some issues during the NCAA tournament.
Yeguete, who had surgery during last season but came back late in the year, had some swelling between the Minnesota and Florida Gulf Coast games during the NCAA tourney and had the knee drained.
“I think for him (a second surgery) is definitely going to be an option that’s on the table,” Donovan said.
DL COACH BRYANT LEAVING
Florida defensive line coach Bryant Young, a former NFL star with the San Francisco 49ers who was part of Will Muschamp’s original staff put together after he was hired in 2011, announced he is leaving the program for personal reasons.
“After heavy consideration and giving over two decades to the game of football, I have made a personal decision to resign from my position at the University of Florida in order to pursue more time with my family,” Young said in a statement. “I am humbled by and grateful for the opportunity I have had to positively influence the hardworking student-athletes and young men whom I will surely miss.”
