Miami rallies past UNC at ACC tourney
DURHAM, N.C. - Zeke DeVoss drove in three runs and Miami rallied from five runs down to beat North Carolina 7-5 on Thursday in their Atlantic Coast Conference tournament opener. Stephen Perez put the fifth-seeded Hurricanes (35-20) ahead to stay with a two-run single in the seventh inning. DeVoss reached base six times and had four hits, including a three-run double as part of the four-run sixth that started Miami's comeback. Greg Holt drove in two runs and Tommy Coyle had three hits for No. 4 seed North Carolina (44-13), which led 5-0 in the sixth. The Tar Heels scored three runs in the first and added two more in the fifth when Jesse Wierzbicki scored on an error by left fielder Rony Rodriguez and an RBI single by Holt.
