Miami baseball wins regional opener of NCAA tournament
GAINESVILLE - Rony Rodriguez drove in two runs and Corey Jansen hit the first home run of his college career to pace Miami to a 7-2 win against Jacksonville in NCAA regional play on Friday. UM (37-21) will face the winner of the Florida-Manhattan game at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Dolphins (36-23) will play the loser of the UF-Manhattan game in an elimination game at noon. Jacksonville trailed only 3-2 until the bottom of the eighth, when the Hurricanes rallied to finish off the Dolphins. Miami starter Steven Ewing allowed just one hit and one run in six innings.
