Injuries force Gators to alter spring game format
GAINESVILLE - Because of injuries that left Florida with just six offensive lineman, the Gators will not play the Orange and Blue spring game in its usual format on Saturday, coach Will Muschamp announced Tuesday. Instead, UF will have an open practice. The format will be similar to the previous 14 practices the Gators conducted this spring, with some special things for fans. Before, during and after the practice, Muschamp will address the crowd to give an inside look and explanation of some of the drills and scrimmage work. The team will have several 11-on-11 scrimmage periods, but there also will be periods mixed in for special teams and individual work.Since there will be no game, the event will be free to the public and pre-purchased tickets will be refunded.
