TAMPA — A video posted on the internet by TMZ Sports shows Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Mike Evans involved in a brawl.
The incident occurred outside a Miami nightclub in March, but no arrests were made, according to Evans agent.
The original report by TMZ Sports said the altercation took place on Saturday. The report was later changed.
Evans played in Tampa Bay’s preseason game against the Miami Dolphins Saturday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
Shortly after arriving in Buffalo on Friday for Saturday night’s preseason game, Evans declined to comment until he consulted with Bucs officials.
“This happened way back in March, even before the draft,” said Evans agent, Deryk Gilmore. “Mike wasn’t arrested and he wasn’t hurt. It was just one of those things. It broke up right away.”
Evans was the team’s first-round selection in the NFL draft in May, the No. 7 overall pick out of Texas A&M.
In the 54-second video, Evans appears to be arguing with someone when a fracas breaks out next to him. Evans appears to get shoved a couple of times, then hop over the hood of a car, seemingly in an attempt to avoid someone.
It is unclear whether Evans throws any punches.
