Land To Leave Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Eric S. Land announced he is leaving the organization effective September 28th, 2007. Land joined the Buccaneers in January of 2006 after previously serving as President and General Manager at WFLA News Channel 8 in Tampa. Land said he is, "Interested in applying what I have learned in the NFL along with my television industry background to the next assignment." Land complimented the Buccaneers owners in saying, "The Glazer family has been gracious to my family and me through the years and I look forward to maintaining our close relationship."Owner Bryan Glazer, the team's Executive Vice President, praised Land's work and wished him well. "Eric is highly regarded in the Tampa Bay business community, and accomplished a great deal in his time with the Buccaneers," said Glazer. "We'll miss his leadership but will consult Eric on special projects." Land said he and his family intend to remain in the Tampa Bay community. Glazer said there is no immediate plan to fill Land's position.
