Cornerback Gaitor re-signed to replace disabled Melvin

— That left ankle injury that has left cornerback Rashaan Melvin in a walking boot appears to have forced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into dipping back into their past for a replacement.

The Bucs on Monday re-signed cornerback Anthony Gaitor, a 2011 seventh-round pick of the Bucs out of Florida International University who played in 12 games over three seasons and accumulated 10 tackles with the Bucs.

The Bucs have also signed defensive tackle Jibreel Black, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Michigan.

To make room for Gaitor and Black, the Bucs released running back Brendan Bigelow and wide receiver Quintin Payton
