Bucs won’t pick, but fans’ draft party goes on
TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t have a first-round pick in Thursday’s NFL draft, but the team won’t let that spoil the makings of a good party. The team’s official draft-night gathering of fans will go on at Raymond James Stadium, where a lineup of Bucs’ stars – including recent additions Darrelle Revis and Dashon Goldson – are scheduled to appear. Other Bucs expected to attend are Mark Barron, Doug Martin, Lavonte David, Josh Freeman, Gerald McCoy and Adrian Clayborn. Barring any late maneuvering, the Bucs only get to watch the happenings in New York on Thursday. They traded the first-round pick, No. 13 overall, to the New York Jets to get Revis. Rounds 2 and 3 are Friday and 4 through 7 are on Saturday. The free party, which begins at 6 p.m., is in the stadium’s East Club and south end zone. There will be autograph sessions with Bucs alumni and cheerleaders, as well as chances to win autographed team merchandise. Fans can also contribute to a Twitter feed that will be shown on the video walls (hashtags #itsabucsdraft and #itsabucslife). The Bucs also plan an on-field presentation at 7 p.m. Lots 5, 6, 6D and 7 will open for free parking at 4:30 p.m.
