Temperatures barely reached the mid-80s and the humidity was a relatively low 60 percent at One Buc Place this week, but the heat generated by the intense sun left many players and coach feeling as if they were back a training camp.
“It felt a little more like September than November out there,'' coach Greg Schiano said. “Guys were dragging a little at the end with the heat, but that was good. The guys really got after it.''
By the numbers
Midway through the season, Bucs WLB Lavonte David ranks as one of the biggest playmakers in the NFL. He is fourth in the league with 7.5 run stuffs, which is a tackle of a running back behind the line of scrimmage, and is third in total tackles for loss with 11.
Did you know?
QB Mike Glennon's eight touchdown passes in five starts are the most by a rookie quarterback in that span since Jay Cutler threw nine with the Denver Broncos in 2006.
Quote of the day
“It reminds me of the playoffs. There's a lot of hype and the lights, camera and action are escalated to another level. You're on center stage, playing in front of the country, in front of the rest of the world, so you've got to play well.''
