TAMPA — The Buccaneers filled two more vacancies Thursday on head coach Lovie Smith’s staff. The Bucs named Jon Embree tight ends coach and Dave Borgonzi defensive quality control coach.
Embree is a 22-year coaching veteran who comes to the Bucs after one season as the tight ends coach for the Cleveland Browns.
Borgonzi joins Tampa Bay after spending the past three years as an offensive assistant for the Dallas Cowboys.
Embree is coming off a season in which Browns tight end Jordan Cameron earned a Pro Bowl berth and ranked second in the NFL in receiving yards by tight ends with 917.
Before joining the Browns, Embree was the head coach at the University of Colorado for two seasons (2011-12).
