Buccaneers promote RB Madu from practice squad
TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have promoted running back Mossis Madu to the active roster from the practice squad. Madu, 6-foot and 197 pounds, originally signed with the Buccaneers in July 2011 as an undrafted free agent and spent the first seven weeks of the season on the team?s practice squad. He played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma, appearing in 40 games for the Sooners. Madu had 15 carries for 53 yards, a 3.5 yard-per-carry average, for the Bucs during the preseason, with a long carry of 25 yards. The team also announced they signed fullback Matt Clapp to the practice squad. Clapp (6-2, 246) originally entered the league with the Detroit Lions in 2010 as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma, spending time on the Lions practice squad.
