Rays v Red Sox Trying to ride the momentum ... again

ST. PETERSBURG – Once again the Rays will try to ride the momentum from a big win to another win when they begin a three-game series tonight against the slumping Red Sox at Tropicana Field.

The Rays earned their first walk-off win Thursday when Sean Rodriguez’s three-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning gave them a 5-2 victory against the A’s.

The Rays blew a ninth inning lead and trailed 2-1 going into the bottom half of the 11th.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox dropped their last seven games.

The Rays are in last place in the AL East, one game behind the fourth place Red Sox and six games behind the first place Blue Jays.
