Zephyrhills baseball coach Ricky Giles resigns after one season

It was a quick tenure for Ricky Giles at his alma mater Zephyrhills, but the former longtime Pasco High baseball coach resigned from the Bulldogs after just one season, he said Thursday afternoon.

Giles spent 17 seasons with Pirates, won 13 district titles and took them to the 1997 Class 4A state title game, but went just 5-20 this season at Zephyrhills.

Giles opted out after the season saying coaching at Zephyrhills didn’t seem like a good fit.
