The Seffner Christian Academy girls basketball team, which has reached the state final three times in the past four years, will be the favorite to win the Class 3A title this season with additions to the program in the offseason.
Sophomore forward Chelsea Hall from Coral Springs Charter, senior guard Deja Swinton from Lakewood, senior guard Asia Royster from Riverview and sophomore guard Alyssa Nieves from Armwood have transferred to SCA, head coach Greg Fawbush said
Swinton, a three-star prospect by ESPN, will undoubtedly fill the position left open after Sabrina Whiting graduated in June as the program’s all-time leading score.
Hall averaged 13.2 points per game and was a Miami Herald first-team selection. Royster was among Hillsborough County’s leaders in assists while helping the team win a district title. Nieves helped Armwood reach the Class 6A region championship.
The Crusaders lost in the Class 3A title game last season and return Peyton Walker, The Tampa Tribune’s 2014 Player of the Year.
