A lot of Buccaneers fans would like to see former Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith wearing Tampa Bay’s deeper pewter, red and orange uniform next year, and there is a chance they might.
Smith is in Baltimore visiting the Ravens today, but he has two other teams on his wish list that he’d like to visit and possibly sign with as well, and the Bucs are one of them, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
Whether the Bucs have mutual interest in Smith is uncertain. No one with the team has mentioned his name as a possible target, and Smith’s agent has yet to respond to messages seeking confirmation of Smith’s interest in Tampa.
The report, though, gives reason for Bucs fans to follow what happens with Smith’s visit in Baltimore. The Bucs have expressed a great desire to get faster, particularly at wide receiver, and the mercurial Smith would do that.
