Erik has provided hockey fans in Tampa with an insider view of the Tampa Bay Lightning since the 2001-02 season, covering it all from a Stanley Cup championship in 2004, holding the first overall pick in 2008 and everything in between. A native of Gloucester, Mass., Erlendsson has lived in Tampa since 1983 and been with the Tampa Tribune since 1997.
It’s fun to get Stanley Cup fever, and the Lightning have been turning up the heat again this season. Fans that can’t get enough of the Bolts now can get closer to their heroes while helping a charitable cause, thanks to an online auction that began Wednesday.
The Lightning are selling 28 game-worn 2015 Stanley Cup Final white jerseys worn by Tampa Bay players during the team’s series against the Chicago Blackhawks. The auction will run through April 29 and ends at 5 p.m. that day and will benefit the Lightning Foundation.
Fans are encouraged to log on to the NHL’s official auction store to bid. Player jerseys in the auction include Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson, Ben Bishop, Victor Hedman, Nikita Kucherov and even Jonathan Drouin.
