The event, from noon to 2 p.m., is at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore, 2225 N. Lois Ave. It is designed to educate the community on the importance of waste reduction and conservation and to inspire people to reduce, re-use and recycle to further decrease their carbon footprint.
The event includes fashion show with designs made from at least 75 percent recycled materials.
According to the Clean Air Council, Americans throw away enough paper and plastic cups, forks and spoons to circle the equator 300 times and use more than a billion plastic bags each year with less than 1 percent of which are recycled.
Tickets are $40 and corporate tables of eight are available for a $500 sponsorship with signage and program listing.
