DOWNTOWN — Peter A. Clark, founder and president of Tampa Bay Watch, will receive the T. Terrell Sessums Award at a dinner Dec. 3
The award, presented annually by the Physicians for Social Responsibility/Florida, honors an individual for environmental stewardship. Clark will be honored for his efforts and commitment to protecting and preserving the Tampa Bay estuary.
The event, open to the public, will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the University Club, 201 N. Franklin St.
It also will feature the University of South Florida College of Public Health Dean’s Lecture, “Climate Change Impacts on Public Health.”
Presenters are Meredith Jagger, manager of the Florida Department of Health’s Building Resilience Against Climate Effects (BRACE) Program, and George Luber, associate director for climate change at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
Tickets are $40 for dinner; a cash bar will be available.
